You’re the traveler who always stays in your camper rental and you love it. But, as you consider a cross-country road trip, you may want to consider staying some nights at the nation’s most unique hotels.
Your camper rental can be an incredible option for when you’re traveling to places like national parks and nature destinations as it provides you with a bed and kitchen and everything you need for a comfortable night in the wild. But, what about those places that are well-known for their unique hotels?
To help you plan your itinerary and where you’re going to spend the night along the way, the following hotels are a few of the most unique spots to stay in, in the country. Take a look:
1.The Stanley-Estes Park, Colorado: What makes this hotel a must for me isn’t only that it’s unique, it’s also set in a beautiful location. Located in Estes Park with views of the lake and forest, it’s a great destination for those who want to spend some time in a beautiful spot in Colorado. Besides it’s beautiful location, The Stanley is famous for being the hotel where Stephen King wrote the Shining, thanks to the idea that the hotel might be haunted. Whether you’ve seen the movie or read the book, this older yet charming hotel is still worth staying at if you’re headed towards Colorado.
2.El Cosmico-Marfa, Texas: It’s the perfect marriage: the landscape of Marfa, Texas and the design of this very unique “nomadic” hotel. From yurts to tepees to trailers and rooms, there are several different options for the nomad looking for a place to stay while traveling through west Texas. Not only are the lodgings at Cosmico very unique but the grounds also offer a lot of experiences, from field trips to festivals, and yoga. If you’re all for bohemian vibes and yogi tribes, this unique hotel in west Texas is worth staying at—that is if you’re ever out that way.
3.The Peabody-Memphis, Tennessee: The Peabody is elegant and vibrant and while those words can be said for many hotels in the U.S., we are not so sure that the following words can be said for any other hotel in town or in the nation for that matter: there are resident ducks in the Peabody. Besides this unique peculiarity of the ducks parading towards the fountain in the hall, the hotel is also a very beautiful 13-story hotel in downtown Memphis with specialty suites and an indoor pool, steakhouse, and lobby bar.
4.Queen Mary-Long Beach, California: “I’m on a boat!” Those are some words you can sing or exclaim when you’re visiting Long Beach. The Queen Mary is actually an ocean liner that dates back to 1936 and is not far from Los Angeles. The Queen Mary hotel has plenty of great amenities too, like a sun-deck, a beautiful bar with original artwork from the 30s and a pub and café. You can even join in a ghost-hunt tour when staying at the Queen Mary.
5.The Library Hotel-NYC, New York: Book lovers will love this hotel which apart from being a beautiful hotel with gorgeous décor and a lovely interior, also has a plethora of books for you to choose from for your reading pleasure. The rooms actually have collections of books in them as do the public areas. Best of all, the Library Hotel is very conveniently located in midtown Manhattan, which means that you can easily get to all the best spots in the city. A really cool thing about the Library Hotel is the Wine and Cheese hour that takes place in the evening. You don’t even need to leave your hotel to have a good time while in New York.
Where Will You Stay?
While we are always for people staying in an RV or traveling around in a camper, we also think it’s pretty cool that there are hotels like the ones mentioned above. From the idea of staying in a hotel where you have a plethora of books to choose from to sleeping in a tepee, there are a variety of places that you can choose from that suit your personal style.
From New York to California, there are several unique places to stay at and we only touched on a few of them. Why not make it a point to check out all the hotels that may be along your way on your journey across the U.S? You never know what kind of fascinating experiences you may have as you go.
Your camper rental is a great option for when you have to stay in places in between but why not go ahead and book a night or two at haunted places or beautiful spaces with all the books that you could ever want to read?
